3D Printed Jig and Trailer Soft Plastics
This video is a fishing video mixed in with a build video highlighting a new jig design I did in 2020. This footage was taken in October of 2020 and I just got around to making the video now. I recorded the design sections of the video recently and decided to mix the two together instead of trying to have separate build and fishing videos. Let me know down in the comments if you enjoyed this format instead of multiple different videos.
For the jig design I used fusion 360 and based it off of my previous ned rig designs, the hooks I am using are mustad 1/0 jig hooks as well as eagle claw 1/0 jig hooks. The mustad hooks are a thicker hook that won't bend out easily if the jig gets caught on ...

Does a 3D Printed duck call sound real? You tell me.
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
I demo two duck call designs I have been working with on and off for the last couple of years. One is a double reed and one is a single reed. The reed material is mylar and I use a custom dimpling jig to indent the double reed stacks. Everything but the reeds are 3D printed on each call. The single reed is printed out of PLA plastic and the double reed is printed out of PETG, the PETG versions ...

Large soft tail crankbait for big fish with Fusion 360 tutorial, 3D printed! (Anet A8, Fusion 360).
Просмотров 8054 года назад
In this video I describe how I build my 3D printed soft tail crankbait called the Harbinger. For this bait I used an old design for a soft plastic tail I made a long time ago. I designed a lipped crankbait lure around that tail design. I made the lure float with counter weight consisting of lead shot and then glued both halves together. After printing the lure on my Anet A8 at 10 percent infill...
I made a thing that spins things and makes them pretty (STLs included) (Anet A8) (3D Printed)
Просмотров 8394 года назад
This is my attempt at trying to use UV epoxy. I needed a way to paint on UV epoxy to finish some of my custom fishing lures. I didn't want to dip the lures into the epoxy because I have a lot of baits with surface cavities that if I tried to dip into epoxy it would run around the body of the baits and cure places it should not cure. So I came up with a system that uses a $7 USD toolbox, aluminu...
Big bait lure turner 3D printed on Anet A8 (STLs included)
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.4 года назад
This is a large lure turner, I am using a disco ball motor for the motor but you could easily modify this design to use a rotisserie motor as well. All of these pieces were designed with fusion 360 and printed with simplify 3d on a heavily modified (for safety) Anet A8. I printed the design in PETG but I don't see why it wouldn't work with PLA. I used PETG to have a little bit more strength. I ...

Not really sure what to say here, seems to work better than I expected, I'm just using a nail from the workshop, nail size is 3.5" 16d. I took off two sides of the head of the nail so the plastisol can flow around the nail while it stays stationary in the mold. I ground off the sides of the nail with a bench g...

Correction regarding PETG - it's not made from old drink bottles as it is a modified polymer. Beverage containers are made from PET/PETE which has a higher melting point and is prone to crystalization when melted and cooled too slowly. PETG has a lower melting point and is not prone to crystalization.

Tinkercad has the "hole" block, realistically it doesn't really delete anything as much as cover something up with a hole. To delete delete you used to be able to right click to delete and or select and hit the delete key. I'm sure it has changed since this tutorial. I haven't used it in quite awhile though moved to fusion 360.

If the law permits, I'd like to cast these in aluminum, using a steel tube, as the weight. The tubes would be drilled and stuffed with rags. Soaked in kerosene and lit. The targets, would be steel pans filled with gravel and Gasoline. Obviously, not for kids. But I believe this could be an Olympic sport.

I looked them up, I think they're just silicone tubing of different lengths? If so, I would guess surgical/food grade tubing would be a good affordable replacement. It looks like Amazon has 1mm-4mm options depending on the size of your knitting needles. Not sure if it would be cheaper than the barber ones specifically. Hope that somewhat helps!

Jarts were so much fun. When I was a kid I had a set and would pretend the rings were cities and the darts atomic bombs. I am now looking for an old set having lost mine in a garage fire. I thought about making them as you did here but I knew that 3d printing of the fins would not work out as they would be brittle. I just watched another video where a guy bought a set of the new lame darts and used the fins from those. He cut the tail piece and they slide right off. Now I'm thinking about making these again.

Sorry about the delay, I traditionally have not sold anything I make. But there is significant interest in the dimpler. I'll post here if I end up selling anything.

I am shickeled titless! I just learned about tinkercad and still couldn't figure it out. Your video about molds opened my mind. I have always (for the last two years) thought of 3D printing as the mold of the future, but I never thought I was making a mold. I was making a prototype. I knew it was a mold but I didn't think of my Open SCAD as a mold, even though I did, but I know 3D the new mold. But, the mold I thought it is, was only an image. I came to tinkerCAD because it is visual. But, until now, with your video, I was unable to negotiate the program. I don't even know if I need to download it. I am thankful for your video. If I sound crazy, it is because I am happy.

Mine from 2016 no longer cycles. The motor constantly runs and it barely increases the pressure. No external leaks. Took apart and be careful of the thick oil that comes out after the 3 big allen screws are removed. Pressure switch that has an o-ring on it was threaded in crooked but was not leaking. Plastic around outside of pressure switch had some rusty screws that seemed to have stripped threads and plastic still will not open with them removed. A plastic "can" inside water part of pressure switch was cracked on one side which would allow water to go from the high side to low side but there is also an engineered hole that will do that so not sure how it works. Strange that the last winter was the one that I disconnected both hoses yet it was the one that damaged it.
